“Can you please find a mission experience for me?” “Where do I look for a short-term mission trip?” “Where can I serve overseas?” Repeatedly, questions like these have been brought to me once I started the missionary podcast. So many lay people are lost where missionaries are where they can serve. As a result, we feel led to set up a Catholic Missionary Hub, a one-stop shop where everyone can visit to find a mission field where they feel the Holy Spirit leading them.
Christ our Lord encourages us to enter the mission field. Jesus shared, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19). Pope Francis encourages all to enter the mission field. He shared, “As the followers of Jesus come to know God’s love, they are sent everywhere to communicate and share it, and by means of this to awaken faith and to transform the world according to God’s plan.” And while addressing the International Congress on Deus, Pope Francis also shared, “All of us together can contribute concretely to the great mission of the church: to communicate the love of God, which is meant to be spread,”
Perhaps the most memorable spiritual experience are where people grow in their faith in the mission field. In other words, no one ever forgets going into the mission field. Whether it be long-term or short-term, US domestic or abroad, the mission field is not only a place where you get to serve, but you are served, changed for the better, and for many, taste true joy.
Our hope and prayer is that you find this website to be informative and beneficial to see where the Lord might be calling you. Through our efforts, we would be honored to assist you in serving the Lord in the mission field. Part of that assistance is that you can contact us with any questions you may develop about entering the mission field. After all, Jesus did say to go out two by two. Our team have all been on several different mission trips. You can bend our ears anytime or write us. And we can also pray for you on your journey and get others to pray for you as well. Please do not worry about any cost or if you are afraid that you are bothering us. We are not in this “mission field” for the money and to serve is our honor. We are called to maximize glory to God and in our eyes, this is one of the best ways possible.
So, come with us into the mission field. Your arms may grow weary, your shoes will wear thin, but come with us into the fields. The Lord will never lead you where His grace will not shine upon you. Let us all go forth and spread the Good News!
